Every day, I help clients navigate the divorce process. My goal is to make things as easy as possible for my divorce clients. Because I understand divorce is stressful, I give every client my cell phone number, and am always available to talk and answer questions.

If you're considering a divorce, you're likely nervous, often angry, and not sure where to start. You want to find a lawyer who will fight for you, but not turn things into a war or prolong the process. So how do you find a divorce lawyer who is right for you?
Generally here's what you can expect when hiring me as a divorce attorney:
Free Consultation
The first step is to schedule an initial meeting to discuss your situation. I don't charge for this meeting because I want to understand your situation and see if we can work together.
At this meeting, I will ask general questions about your goals, discuss your family, particularly issues related to your children and your financial situation. I will give you advice on how we can achieve realistic goals and explain the court system to you. I will also give you a time frame as to finalizing the divorce.
Hiring or Retaining A Divorce Attorney
If you are ready to move forward with your divorce, we will work together to customize a plan for your family situation and your needs. I will make sure your goals are met.
We'll build a plan around three main areas:
Children and custody
Division of property (home, businesses, investment, etc.)
Income as it relates to alimony and child support
If retained, we will meet again to discuss in detail the specifics of your finances, custody arrangements (if children are involved). We will make arrangements for any experts, if necessary. I will guide you through the process step-by-step to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
Costs for a Divorce Attorney

Generally, the cost of a divorce attorney can range anywhere from a retainer of $2,500 to an unlimited amount. Costs depend entirely on the complexity
of the case. Simple cases where both parties have regular jobs and own a home will cost less than divorcing couples who own a business together, multiple homes and have many combined assets. Most attorneys require an upfront retainer which
they bill against at their hourly rate.
How Long Does A Divorce Take?
Divorces can take anywhere from six months to two years to complete, or longer for certain cases. There are exceptions, for example, an uncontested divorce (where both parties agree to the terms) can be completed in about eight weeks. Alternately, a heavily contested divorce can become protracted if there are multiple complex issues.
